Crosti boilered 9F 2-10-0 numbered 92028, running light round the Cliftonville Curve between Hove and Preston Park in Sussex .

Not permitted into Brighton Locomotive Yard it was turned on the triangle for its return journey.

The caption said the loco had been to Brighton Works ‘for inspection’, but did not state why an LMR 9F (based Wellingborough, Northants) went to Brighton.

However, it is more likely that the locomotive was simply turned on the Cliftonville Spur /Hove /Brighton triangle.
