Crosti boilered 9F 2-10-0 numbered 92028, running light round the Cliftonville Curve between Hove and Preston Park in Sussex . Not permitted into Brighton Locomotive Yard it was turned on the triangle for its return journey.

The caption said the loco had been to Brighton Works "for inspection", but did not state why an LMR 9F (based Wellingborough, Northants) went to Brighton . Could it be that because Brighton was the design office responsible for the 9F, they would have wanted to see an example of the new 9F variant in the metal. 92028 was probably just ex-works from Crewe at the time?
